Kick off to Summer BBQ a Success!

Richcroft would like to extend a HUGE thanks to all who came out to support our first-ever Red, White, and ‘Cue fundraiser on Sunday, May 22, 2022. The day was all about fun and togetherness and was full of activities for the whole family! The afternoon was highlighted with live music by Nelly’s Echo, delectable food by Andy Nelson’s BBQ, and cold beer on tap. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and despite the early-season heat, the event was a smashing success!

In an incredible show of support, we were joined by more than 260 guests including supported individuals and their families, sponsors, board members, volunteers, staff, and many friends, old and new. We owe a great deal of gratitude to our 26 sponsors, 19 of whom were first-time supporters of Richcroft! Altogether, this inaugural fundraising event raised more than $50,000 to support our new CDS Program and we couldn’t be more thankful or grateful.

After two years of social distancing and isolation, we loved watching families and supporters play giant Jenga, cornhole, volleyball, badminton, and even trying their luck on the plant wheel! The cool breeze allayed the humidity and children were excited to play and cool down by jumping in and out of the sprinklers. Several of Richcroft’s own supported individuals sold one-of-a-kind handmade jewelry that they had created, with all proceeds contributed to Richcroft.

Andy Nelson’s Mobile Pit generously provided the all-you-can-eat BBQ, and Nelly’s Echo kept the crowd continuously entertained with their great music. If you regularly watch The Voice on NBC, you might have seen them there! (Fun fact:  Nelly himself used to be a DSP for another disability organization’s residential program during the early stages of his career!) Our silent auction also drew a lot of interest with 47 items up for grabs, ranging from club seats for the Orioles to a seven-night beach vacation! Thanks to your incredible support, we raised around $6,000 from the silent auction alone!

Thank you to everyone who came, participated, and supported our inaugural fundraiser! We would like to say a special thanks once again to our incredibly generous Red, White & ‘Que Sponsors!
